Celebrity Perspective – What Celebs Have to Say About Politics
About as entertaining as your regular reality
TV shows, the American presidential election has given us a lot to think about—and
a lot to laugh at.
With two names in the spotlight—Hilary
Clinton and Donald Trump—each candidate has addressed their future actions and
truly, not many are impressed. In fact, not one of them has been able to win
over even half of the U.S. population.
And with next year’s elections
looming near, even celebrities have taken to expressing their thoughts and support
on social media. And here, we shall see what some of them have to say.
What Celebs Say about American Politics
· Susan Sarandon
According to Celebrities
Galore, major source for celebrities’ profiles, Susan Sarandon has always
been an analytical thinker who favors a practical solution.
So it’s no surprise that in her
views, America needs a leader who is not only courageous but also levelheaded
in a time of crisis. Although a Bernie Sanders fan at the start, it is going to
be some time before we see who she supports with the current candidates.
· BeyoncĂ©
Beyoncé has publically shown
support for Hilary Clinton. Having donated to the Clinton campaign, she
believes that from the two candidates, Hilary is the one who will most likely
be able to lead American down a better path.
· Kristie
Alley
Kristie Alley is an outspoken
supporter of Donald Trump. Having gone on record to say that she will be voting
for Trump, Alley also stated that she didn’t like how Scott Pelley had treated
Trump on the show 60 minutes. She has
also engaged in talks with her followers about Trump, debating with various
perspectives.
· John
Oliver
The outspoken “Last Week Tonight” host
hasn’t as of yet, stated his support for either party. However, he has done a
piece on Donald Trump that picked apart everything that the Trump campaign had
been running with. And although he has also
spoken against the Clinton campaign and the email scandal, he has stated
evidence to back his disdain for the Republican candidate.
· Ashton
Kutcher
Ashton Kutcher has not been as
vocal as many others about his support for any candidate. However, he has
spoken against those who rallied behind “someone who had a negative attitude
towards immigration in the US”. In fact, he has even displayed his outright
support for immigration and stating statistics and facts about the positive
affects through history.
This isn’t so surprising though,
since according to his celebrity profile, Kutcher has always sought peace and
has used his analytical insight to search for the true nature of things, rather
than depend on what he’s been told.
· George Clooney
George Clooney is not a fan of
Donald Trump, and has stated as much in many of his interviews. According to
one interview with The Guardian, he went so far as to state that Trump is a
xenophobic fascist.
In addition, he has also been
public about his support for Hilary Clinton, stating that this election season
has been crazy. He also added that at the end of the day, he believes that
people will not vote for him.
We still have time before the
2017 election. So as we go on, we will find out more about different celebs and
who they think is the best leader for their country.
